At the very heart of British and world motorsport, the Silverstone circuit is a special venue for endurance racing. 2013 will see the Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy awarded to the winners of the 6 Hours of Silverstone. First awarded in 1905, the Tourist Trophy is the world’s oldest motorsport trophy still being competed for.

Since 1966 the greatest endurance machines have competed on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Belgian Ardennes and has always generated exciting and spectacular races. The final event before the 24 Heures du Mans, it also serves as a rehearsal for the biggest race on the calendar.

One of the greatest racing spectacles in the world and without the 24 Heures du Mans endurance racing would not exist. Created in 1923 by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the main event on the FIAWEC calendar will celebrate the 90^th anniversary of the first race. There will be double Championship points awarded to different rankings at the end of the 24 Heures du Mans.

Promoted by former F1 and Indycar champion Emerson Fittipaldi the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo was a huge success in the first season of the FIA WEC. The intimidating Autódromo José Carlos Pace, Interlagos, located on the outskirts of São Paulo, is a jewel of a circuit and has challenged drivers and teams from every corner of the globe. There is nothing quite like an endurance race in front a large, enthusiastic Brazilian crowd – the atmosphere is electric.

Since 1982 endurance racing has a rich history at Fuji International Speedway when a round of the Sports Car World Championship was contested. Located at the foot of the world famous Mount Fuji, this fast track, which was rebuilt in 2005, hosted the first Japanese round of the World Endurance Championship in October 2012 with 40,000 fans travelling to see Toyota win on home soil.

In 2012 the season concluded at the Shanghai International Circuit with the first endurance race organized at global level in the economic capital of China. The tough and demanding circuit, with an impressive infrastructure, delivered on its promise to provide a spectacular finale to the first season of the FIA World Endurance Championship with Marcel Fässler, Benoit Tréluyer and Andre Lotterer securing the world title at the end of the six hour race.

The 6 Hours of Bahrain will conclude what should be a great 2013 season for the FIA WEC. Situation in the desert, the facilities at the BIC are second to none and the welcome is as warm as the weather, though this year the temperatures should be better in November. This race will be where most of the championship titles are decided.
