The home event for Porsche and an equally important European round for both Toyota and Ford, the WEC has in just two years quickly made a very positive impact in Germany. Endurance Racing has a long tradition at the Nürburgring, with the first 1000 km being held in 1953 as part of the World Sportscar Championship. The knowledge and enthusiasm of the large crowds at the 6 Hours of Nürburgring proves that the German fans have lost none of their passion for endurance racing.

Taking place at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodriguez in southeast Mexico City, the inaugural 6 Hours of Mexico in 2016 was a great success and proof that endurance racing holds a special place in the hearts of the Mexican motorsport fans. The comprehensively upgraded track poses numerous elements for competitors which make for exciting and close racing, including the high altitude, the fan-friendly stadium section, tight and twisty turn.

Endurance racing has a rich history at Fuji Speedway, dating back to 1982 when a round of the Sportscar World Championship was contested. Located at the foot of the world-famous Mount Fuji, the track was rebuilt in 2005 to a high standard, fast layout. It has hosted a round of the World Endurance Championship every year since 2012, and fans flock in their thousands to see their heroes and cheer Toyota Gazoo Racing to success. The team representing the manufacturing giant has won in 2013, 2014 and 2016.

In 2012 the season concluded at the Shanghai International Circuit with the first endurance race organised at global level in the economic capital of China. The tough and demanding circuit, with an impressive infrastructure, provides the perfect stage for the tens of thousands of Chinese fans who have turned out every year since. In 2017 there are no fewer than four cars registered under the Chinese flag in the WEC which will heighten interest further.

The superb Bahrain International Circuit will in 2017 once again host the final round of the World Endurance Championship season – the perfect venue, with facilities second to none and a welcome as warm as the weather to round out an intense year of competition.
