A postcard from Le Mans

After one of the most unpredictable and drama-filled 24 Hours of Le Mans in recent years, here's a pictorial look back at some of the events of last week.

All the ORECAS lined up before the race...they were the chassis to beat this year.

Toyota Gazoo Racing came in strength but left depleted

The popular Porsche driver got close to a win, but not quite close enough

The crowds came in their thousands for the autograph session / open pit walk

Jackie Chan DC Racing excelled all week...even if Ho-Pin Tung is looking a little less than human here!

It didn't turn out to the Ferrari's year...

It took a lot longer to attach the bodywork for the one of the left, than the one of the right!

It was hard work for the pit crews in the intense heat of the week

It fell apart for Vaillante Rebellion's No.13 after the race...

Christian Ried had the full support of team boss Patrick Dempsey all weekend

CEFC Manor TRS Racing finished 7th overall

Sunshades not umbrellas..

Who knew at this stage how different the final classification would be?

The GTE battle was epic!

The Ferris Wheel is part of Le Mans

A bird's eye view of the pit lane

The No.8 Toyota TS050 HYBRID battled through to finish 8th overall

Sunset and sunrise were a photographer's dream

It was a tough weekend for the mechanics

Ford's No.67 grabbed second place in GTE Pro on the last lap thanks to a strong line up

Porsche GT Team just missed out on a podium place but were always in contention

Five different GT marques finished in the top five places in GTE Pro...

What a finish to an incredible race.  See you next year!
