At the very heart of British and world motorsport, the Silverstone circuit will host the opening race of the season.
The Royal Automobile Club Tourist Trophy will be awarded to the winners of the 6 Hours of Silverstone.
The Tourist Trophy is the world’s oldest motorsport trophy still being competed for.

Since 1966 the greatest endurance machines have competed on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Belgian Ardennes and have always generated exciting and spectacular races. The final event before the 24 Hours of Le Mans, it also serves as a rehearsal for the biggest race on the calendar.

One of the greatest and most well-known spectacles in the world; without the 24 Hours of Le Mans, endurance racing would not exist. Created in 1923 by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, the main event on the WEC calendar with double Championship points awarded at the end of the world’s greatest motorsport event.

The first World Endurance Championship race in Germany, the home event for Audi and Porsche, was a huge success in 2015. Endurance Racing has a long tradition at the Nürburgring with the first 1000 km being held in 1953 as part of the World Sportscar Championship, and the inaugural 6 Hours of Nürburgring showed that the German fans had lost none of their passion for endurance racing.

Located within the public park of the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in southeast Mexico City, the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is a 2.674 miles (4,304 km), 17 turns race track named after Mexican racing brothers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez, the latter a well-established endurance racer.
The circuit was opened in 1962, with its first event being a non-Championship Mexican Grand Prix, and in the last 12 months the facility has been comprehensively upgraded with the entire track being resurfaced and changes made to a number of corners including Peraltada.
The FIA World Sportscar Championship raced at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez for the Trofeo Mexico between 1989 and 1991. The 6 Hours of Mexico will be round 5 of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship, with track action beginning on Thursday 1st September, with the race on Saturday 3rd September.

The North American round of the WEC returns to the ultra modern circuit near Austin, Texas, for the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas and the Lone Star Le Mans weekend. The World Endurance Championship will race on the same day as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for a festival of endurance racing.

Endurance racing has a rich history at Fuji Speedway, dating back to 1982 when a round of the SportsCar World Championship was contested. Located at the foot of the world famous Mount Fuji, Fuji Speedway is a fast track which was rebuilt in 2005. It hosted the first Japanese round of the World Endurance Championship in October 2012 with 40,000 fans travelling to see Toyota win on home soil. The Japanese manufacturer won again in 2013 and 2014.

In 2012 the season concluded at the Shanghai International Circuit with the first endurance race organised at global level in the economic capital of China. In 2016 the 6 Hours of Bahrain will once again host the season finale for the World Endurance Championship. Situated in the desert, the Bahrain International Circuit provides a unique challenge of racing into the night as the sun sets over the Gulf. The circuit is challenging for the drivers, the facilities are second to none and the welcome is as warm as the weather. The perfect venue to end the fifth WEC season .
