Tribute to Scott Atherton from Gérard Neveu on behalf of the WEC

Gérard Neveu, CEO of the FIA World Endurance Championship, was present at Petit Le Mans in Road Atlanta, the final round of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the final race for Scott Atherton in his role as President.  Here, Gerard pays tribute to Scott Atherton.

“Although Scott will remain on the IMSA board of directors and therefore in regular contact with us, we will miss seeing him at the races.  For the last 8 years, all the WEC’s activities in the United States have been carried out in liaison with Scott.  I have a great deal of respect for his shining career and accomplishments in motorsport, and we all know how much he has done for endurance racing in the USA.  We wish him much happiness in his new life, and we hope that he will stay involved enough in order to continue to help us develop common programmes between the ACO and IMSA."
