Strakka Racing, winner of the LMP1 Privateer category at last year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, is ready to face its new 2014 challenge - entry in the highly competitive LMP2 class - beginning with The Prologue, the official pre-season test for all FIA WEC competitors.

The British team today shook down its new closed cockpit Strakka DOME S103 chassis at a venue near to its Silverstone base, and the car was in the hands of long-time Strakka drivers Jonny Kane and Danny Watts.  The LMP2 is the first in a new line of chassis from the Strakka DOME Racing partnership, and willl be powered by Nissan’s VK45 4.5-litre V8 engine,

“Straight out of the box we managed to get through all the systems checks, putting us in good shape for the official WEC test at Paul Ricard later this month,” says Nick Leventis, who will also drive the LMP2 car this year. “Everyone in the team has worked tirelessly to get the car out ahead of the test and debug it.  The results they have created are stunning. Now we can go to The Prologue at Ricard and use that track time to find some speed.”

Strakka Racing’s driver line up continues unchanged this season with Nick Leventis, Danny Watts and Jonny Kane contesting the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship which includes, as its third round, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
