WEC and ELMS get the racing party started!

 

Key players in endurance racing, team principals, drivers, media and organisers came together this evening at Silverstone Circuit for a relaxed and informal gathering to celebrate the start of the 2013 endurance racing season.  

President of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, Pierre Fillon, wished all the competitors present good luck and voiced the desires and wishes of the whole group:  a fantastic season of racing ahead for everyone in both the FIA World Endurance Championship and the European Le Mans Series.  Sir Lindsey Owen-Jones, President of the FIA World Endurance Commission, and Richard Philips, Managing Director of Silverstone Circuits Ltd, fully echoed his sentiments.

Track action begins tomorrow at 9:00 am for the ELMS, with the first one hour practice session, followed by 90 minutes of free practice for the competitors of the FIA WEC from 12:25-1:55 pm.
