The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation says thank you!

Last weekend, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual held a 24-hour appeal for donations to medical research for an internationally-available Covid-19 vaccine.

Last weekend, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual held a 24-hour appeal for donations to medical research for an internationally-available Covid-19 vaccine. The appeal raised 21 500 €, which will be donated to GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance.

Gavi is an international organisation aiming to provide equal access to vaccines for all. The Principality of Monaco has been a supporter of the alliance for several years. Prince Albert II attended the online European Commission Coronavirus Global Response Pledging Conference on 4 May, contributing to the initial funding to kick-start the global cooperation.

HSH Charlene, Princess of Monaco: “The 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual have proved to be a successful combination of sport, passion and generosity. My foundation and the StrongTogether entry, with drivers Francesco Castellacci, Felipe Massa, Giancarlo Fisichella and Tony Mella, are committed to supporting medical research, in particular concerning Covid-19. Thanks to a great race, the first 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual , we were able to rally the world of endurance to this cause too. Thank you all with a special mention of course for the crew of the StrongTogether car, which finishes 8th.”
