A word from Rebellion's Dominik Kraihamer

New to Rebellion Racing for 2014, but not to the FIA WEC, is Austrian Dominik Kraihamer who was present at The Prologue with the Swiss team which will compete in the LMP1-L category of the championship.  Also in attendance for Rebellion was Nicolas Prost, Nick Heidfeld, Mathias Beche, Andrea Belicchi and, for the test, the current GP2 Champion Fabio Leimer.

After his first day in the No.13 Lola Toyota, Dominik commented: "I'm really happy to join the REBELLION Racing team. In recent years, I have moved from one team to another almost every year and I have never met such a nice team at this level! Everyone is really friendly. When I arrived yesterday, every member of the team, engineers, mechanics and drivers, greeted me with a smile, which is very kind. I immediately felt at ease. First contacts with my teammates for this test session Andrea Belicchi and Fabio Leimer were very good. As the older driver in the team, Andrea helped me a lot, showing me the team.

"The lineup of #12 in this test session is nice too. Nick Heidfeld, Nicolas Prost and Mathias Beche are experienced drivers, quick but also easygoing. I feel a kind of openness in the team with everyone talking and cooperating. This will help me to be confident and to progress more quickly. "

"Of course, I knew the results of the team before joining it. But I had heard everything and its opposite about the car : easy to drive for some drivers, difficult for others. I was not worried, and I couldn't wait to have my own opinion. From the first laps, I found the Lola-Toyota pretty easy to drive compared to some other cars I have driven in the past. But I know that this feeling is relative : it was only my first test. The beginning is always easy. The difficulty will come with more demanding driving. But I am confident. The 18 laps I drove today went well. The car was not yet at its full potential, but it allowed me to discover the Lola Coupé and the Toyota RV8KLM engine. We're here to work, to get experience and to improve. "

"My first goal is to find my own pace in the car. I have to gain confidence when braking and in fast corners. To move forward, I focus a lot on myself. This is not arrogance. I just try to find what is wrong, how I can improve it… and also how I can help my teammates. I am aware that there is a big challenge in teamworking to accomplish."
