Happy Birthday Aston Martin!

Did you know that today is Aston Martin's 100th birthday?

The company (not the racing team, which is more recent) today begins a year of cententary celebrations.  In 2012 the world-renowned luxury British marque was represented in the FIA WEC's LMGTE Pro category by one of its most recent models, the Aston Martin Vantage V8. Perhaps Aston Martin's celebrations may even include something special at the home of British motor racing, Silverstone, for the opening round of the 2013 championship on 14th April?

It was on January 15 1913 that the company was officially incorporated when Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded Bamford & Martin Ltd. It would later become Aston Martin in recognition of Bamford’s success (in the very first Bamford & Martin cars) at the Aston Hillclimb in Buckinghamshire, England.

Celebrations at Silverstone or not, we all wish everyone associated with Aston Martin a very happy 100th birthday!
