Good morning from a cool but dry Circuit des 24 Heures, the venue for the third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, Les 24 Heures du Mans.
At 09:00h there will be a 45-minute morning warm up for the 56 entrants in the race – the last chance for teams and drivers to make sure their car is working well and that all the systems are functioning as they should. For some drivers it will give them a vital chance for another few laps on a dry track, and for Krohn Racing and Thiriet by TDS Racing it will be an opportunity to shake down their re-built cars after their qualifying incidents.
Following that, the track will be filled with the sights and sounds of the Le Mans Legends and the Ferrari Challenge races at 10:05h and 11:15 respectively.
The start of the pre-race ceremonies begins immediately after the Drivers’ group photo which takes place on the start/finish line at 13:40h. Cars will be placed on the grid in the traditional ‘ears of corn’ formation while the drivers are presented to the crowd and the national anthems of all present are played.
The start of the race is at 15:00h and Loic Duval in the No.2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro will lead off the field for the 81st edition of the world’s most famous sportscar race.
