In celebration of the Lone Star Le Mans festival of racing due to take place at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) this coming weekend, an exclusive one-night-only screening of the new racing documentary “Steve McQueen: The Man & Le Mans” will take place at the Alamo Drafthouse located off South Lamar on Friday, September 18.
The documentary debuted this year at the Cannes Film Festival to rave reviews from both critics and audiences alike, and the film is now being brought to the WEC paddock and a few lucky Austin residents ahead of the nationwide distribution in the USA on November 13.
The documentary tells the story of obsession, betrayal and ultimate vindication. It is the story of Steve McQueen and of how one of the most volatile, charismatic stars of his generation who, although seemingly lost so much he held dear in the pursuit of his dream, nevertheless followed it to the end. The film includes never-before-seen production footage and audio recording from private film sessions, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at The King of Cool’s passion - the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans.
