Exactly 12 hours after the conclusion of today’s Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain season finale, teams will return to the track for up to five hours of running, as rising stars of the sport take advantage of the opportunity to get to grips with cutting-edge Hypercar and LMGT3 machinery.

One such driver will be Logan Sargeant, who started 36 grands prix for Williams Racing in 2023-24. The 24-year-old American has made sporadic forays into sportscar competition in recent years, winning two of the three races he contested in the Michelin Le Mans Cup’s GT3 category in 2021 with Iron Lynx and claiming pole position on his LMP2 class debut in the European Le Mans Series the same year, ahead of recent FIA WEC Hypercar race-winner Ferdinand Habsburg.

Late last year, Sargeant participated in a test session for IDEC Sport, and this season, he entered the final two rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in LMP2, finishing just shy of the podium at Petit Le Mans last month.

The Florida native will take to the circuit in Proton Competition’s podium-finishing Ford Mustang in Bahrain, while François Hériau – who is aiming to clinch the LMGT3 crown in today’s race alongside VISTA AF Corse team-mates Alessio Rovera and Simon Mann – will switch teams to try out arch-rival Manthey 1st Phorm’s Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Bapco Energies 8 Hours of Bahrain pole-sitter Akkodis ASP Team will put three new drivers through their paces – current LMGT3 protagonists Tom Van Rompuy and Martin Berry, as well as reigning Le Mans Cup LMP3 champion Hadrien David.

Check out the full entry list for the test, which will get underway at 10:00 local time (08:00 CET) on Sunday, 9 November.
