Living legend, Henri Pescarolo has been honoured by the ACO and the FIA World Endurance Championship by being chosen as the Grand Marshal for the 6 Hours of Fuji this weekend.
“I was one of the first European drivers to race here at Fuji. I first raced here in 1968 with a works 2-litre March,” said the four-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. “At the end of the straight there was a big banking section. It is a great circuit.
“I am very happy with the 2015 calendar with tracks like Silverstone, Spa, Le Mans and now Nurburgring. This traces back the history of legendary races in sports-prototype races. The Championship is growing well each year and I think it has a great balance now with the entrants that are all committed to the whole season.”
Pescarolo will wave off the 27-car grid on Sunday morning at 11.00 local time, quite appropriately with a green flag, the colour which the French racing legend is so remembered for racing in!
