Hypercar
- After a thrilling new two-phased Hyperpole session earlier in the evening, the final track running before Saturday lunchtime’s warm up session ahead of the 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans took place in full night-time conditions
- In a relatively uneventful session, the Hypercar times are topped by the #83 AF Corse Ferrari 499P as Robert Kubica laps in 3m26.523s
- That lap by the Polish ace is 0.933s faster than the #50 Ferrari AF Corse 499P in which Miguel Molina sets a 3m27.456s best
- Third in session is the #311 Cadillac Whelen Hypercar as the IMSA regular continues to show fine form with Felipe Drugovich setting a time that gets within 1.257s of Kubica’s best lap
- The top six in FP4 is completed by the front-row starting #38 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA car, the #6 Porsche Penske 963 and the pole winning #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA entry
- Some technical issues strike for the #15 BMW M Team WRT Hypercar as Kevin Magnussen is forced to limp back to the pits midway through the session
LMGT3
- Akkodis ASP Lexus top another session with the #87 car peaking on a 3m55.057s lap in the hands of 2020 overall winner Jose-Maria Lopez
- Second over the hour long session is the #10 Racing Spirit of Le Mans as Eduardo Barrichello claims the time of 3m56.25s
- The #54 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari 499P places third with Davide Rigon making it three different manufacturers in the top three positions
- Category pole sitting #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage of Mattia Drudi, Ian James and Zacharie Robichon ends the session in 16th after electing not to partake in the majority of the session and completing just four laps
- The rebuilt #63 Iron Lynx Mercedes of Stephen Grove, his son Brenton and Luca Stolz encounters more problems after yesterday’s accident as it stops on the Mulsanne Straight and is unable to make it back to the pits
LMP2
- VDS Panis Racing heads the LMP2 category as Esteban Masson, Oliver Gray and Franck Perera prepares well for the weekends race pace preparation
- They head the #29 pole winning TDS Racing Oreca-Gibson crewed by Clement Novalak, Mathais Beche and Rodrigo Sales entry by 0.628s
- Third in class is the #183 AF Corse car as Mathieu Vaxiviere sets the time in spectacular gold liveried car he shares with Antonio Felix da Costa and Francois Perrodo
- Problems for the #22 United Autosports Oreca-Gibson as Daniel Schneider is forced to stop with a suspected front-right puncture triggering a Full Course Yellow period in the final minutes of the session
- The warm up for the 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled for 12.00 on Saturday afternoon
