What’s new in V1.0?

Due to launch on Tuesday, 22 July, this is the grown-up, more mature June release but with some special new toys to bring the game right up-to-date.

The new-for-2025 Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar and new-to-WEC Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 are both coming to the base game free-of-charge. The incredible roar of the Valkyrie’s V12 powerplant will impress players both behind the wheel and from the trackside view, while the Mercedes is a fan-favourite across the globe, with its slick look carefully recreated in Le Mans Ultimate in never-before-seen detail.

Developers Motorsport Games and Studio 397 have also added the new BMW M4 LMGT3 Evo as raced by Team WRT in FIA WEC this year. Included for all owners of this downloadable content (available in 2024 Pack 3), the model has been updated for the current campaign, with its striking new headlights, tail lights, wing mirrors and hood vents.

Content isn’t the only area where improvements have been effected. Following feedback, tweaks have been made to the thermals of the LMGT3 tyres to increase their performance range while the simulation has been brought up to 2025 spec, with new position boards on the cars where appropriate and added liveries to make the grid even more colourful than before.

The car set-up page has similarly been refined and condensed, meaning players no longer need to visit several different menus to change aspects such as virtual energy, tyres and electronics.

The steam store has benefitted from some repackaging, too, with the ‘free DLCs’ – the BMW M Hybrid V8, McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo and Ford Mustang LMGT3 – now all in the base game while the new ‘Le Mans Ultimate WEC Full Access’ bundle has been designed as an easy step into all the content delivered so far. Moreover, anybody not in possession of all 2024 packs will be offered a discount to complete the set.

Things to look forward to

As announced last month, the Motorsport Games and Studio 397 teams remain hard at work on Le Mans Ultimate, well beyond the upcoming Version 1.0 release, with career mode developments in the pipeline ahead of the anticipated introduction of a unique single-player experience in early 2026.
