Numerous teams confirm 2021 WEC entries

A host of teams have already announced their #WEC2021 programmes and today it was revealed that five Ferrari 488 GTE Evos will join this year’s LMGTE Am category. TF Sport also announced its plans for WEC Season 9.

AF Corse. The reigning GTE Am champions will enter with two cars in 2021: the No. 83 488 GTE will be fielded by world champions François Perrodo and Nicklas Nielsen who will be accompanied Italy’s Alessio Rovera, winner of the Italian GT Endurance Championship. Elsewhere, aboard car No. 54, the partnership made up of Giancarlo Fisichella, Thomas Flohr and Francesco Castellacci has been confirmed.

Cetilar Racing. The Italian team makes the transition from LMP2 to LMGTE Am for 2021. Roberto Lacorte will drive the 488 GTE Evo, alongside two other drivers yet to be announced.  The number chosen for the 488 GTE, set to compete in the six scheduled calendar dates, will be the No. 47.

Iron Lynx. After winning the Michelin Le Mans Cup, the Italian team makes its debut in the world championship with two 488 GTEs. Claudio Schiavoni, Matteo Cressoni and Andrea Piccini will take to the track in the No. 60 Ferrari. The second car, the No. 85, will be entrusted to the "Iron Dames" of Michelle Gatting, Rahel Frey and Manuela Gostner – the all-female trio making the step up to the world stage having performed well in ELMS for the past two years.

TF Sport. Last year’s LMGTE Am runners-up TF Sport confirmed that America’s Ben Keating will drive the Aston Martin Vantage – transitioning from Team Project 1 and the Porsche.  The ultra-talented Bronze driver will be joined by Brazilian Felipe Fraga and Germany’s Dylan Pereira for WEC Season 9.

In just two days’ time (Thursday 21 January), the full #WEC2021 entry list will be revealed. Don’t miss it!
