OAK Racing to enter LMP2 for final third of 2014 FIA WEC season
13/09/2014

The French OAK Racing team will be entering LMP2 in three of the final four rounds of the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The 6 Hours of Fuji in Japan, the fifth round of the FIA WEC, will include the Onroak Automotive-built No.35 Morgan-Judd to be driven by global Nissan ambassador Keiko Ihara and the very quick pairing of Gustavo Yacaman and Alex Brundle.  The Colombian-British duo has proven to be very speedy racing in the USA this year.

Three weeks later the Dunlop-shod Morgan will feature a different line up in the 6 Hours of Shanghai, with David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung from China, OAK Racing drivers at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, plus a new team mate, Mark Patterson.  The American participated in the first and third rounds of the FIA WEC this year with the now-defunct Ram Racing team, but has considerable LMP2 experience from the ELMS.

OAK Racing’s third outing will be in the 6 Hours of Bahrain. David Cheng and Mark Patterson will continue their collaboration while Keiko Ihara will make her return to the cockpit of the No.35 Morgan Judd to replace Ho-Pin Tung.

Jacques Nicolet, OAK Racing President
“Our job running the car for G-Drive Racing has enabled us stay in the FIA WEC after our fantastic year in 2013. For the second part of the 2014 season starting with Fuji we’re entering for three rounds a Morgan-Judd LM P2 with which we’ve racked up numerous successes so we’ll beef up the field in LM P2 in this championship with a car in the colours of OAK Racing. I’m delighted to welcome back drivers that we appreciate very much to our team as well as newcomer Mark Patterson.”
