Hypercar

  • Practice action comes thick and fast as the second half of the 2025 FIA WEC season begins with the Rolex 6 Hours of São Paulo
  • Porsche Penske Motorsport claimed a one-two in FP2 as lap times tumbled with qualifying simulations ahead of tomorrow’s sessions and high-stakes Hyperpole shoot-out
  • The #6 Porsche 963 Hypercar took the top spot, but this time it was Kévin Estre rather than Laurens Vanthoor who set the best time of 1m23.508s
  • Le Mans hero Estre’s flyer narrowly shaded the sister #5 Porsche, as Julien Andlauer stopped the clocks a mere 0.104s shy of his countryman’s best with a 1m23.612s lap
  • BMW M Team WRT proved to be Porsche’s biggest threat in the dry, warm and overcast session as the #15 Hypercar piloted by Dries Vanthoor claimed third with a peak run of 1m23.618s
  • Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA nabbed fourth with its #12 V-Series.R, with Alex Lynn continuing his strong form in the car he shares with Norman Nato and Will Stevens
  • Aston Martin THOR Team upset the formbook with an encouraging fifth-fastest time, as Harry Tincknell punched in a 1m24.005s lap
  • Sheldon van der Linde made it two BMWs inside the top six with a mid-session 1m24.019s lap.The top six was covered by a mere half-a-second, and the top 15 by under a second!
  • The rest of the top ten read: #7 Toyota; #009 Aston Martin; #38 Cadillac; and #50 Ferrari AF Corse

LMGT3

  • Eduardo Barrichello gave the sizeable local crowd some cheer with the fastest LMGT3 lap aboard the Racing Spirit of Léman Aston Martin
  • The son of one of Interlagos’ fan favourites, Rubens Barrichello, the 23-year-old scorched to an ultimately quickest effort of 1m34.493s
  • Barrichello’s best lap was a tiny 0.067s ahead of the #78 Akkodis ASP Team Lexus, with series returnee Yuichi Nakayama setting that car’s best lap on 1m34.560s
  • Confirming Lexus’ strong form, the #87 Lexus placed third with a time of 1m34.930 in the hands of Clemens Schmid
  • United Autosports ventured into the top four for the first time this weekend, as Sébastien Baud put together a neat 1m34.951s lap in the papaya-liveried #59 McLaren 720S LMGT3 Evo
  • TF Sport ended the session fifth with its #81 Corvette, Rui Andrade stopping the clocks at 1m35.041s
  • United Autosports got both of its cars into the top six, with Darren Leung showing strong personal form in the #95 entry he shares alongside Sean Gelael and Marino Sato
  • The championship-leading #92 Manthey 1st Phorm Porsche endured a tricky session and languished down in 14th position as Le Mans winners Riccardo Pera, Ryan Hardwick and Richard Lietz look to consolidate their slender six-point advantage in the title race in Brazil
