Spirit of Le Mans Photo Competition Winner Chosen

13/11/2014

After receiving The winner of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship ‘Spirit of Le Mans’ photography competition has been chosen with 19 year old Audran Lernoux taking the top prize of an all-expenses paid VIP trip for two to the 2014 season finale in Sao Paulo at the end of the month.

Audran’s  winning image, entitled the Magic of Le Mans, was taken on Sunday morning and shows two prototypes racing under the famous Dunlop Bridge at sunrise at the 2014 24 Heures du Mans.

“This was a hard decision because we received so many exceptional images for this competition, but the winning picture is exceptional and sums up the ‘Spirit of Le Mans’ for the judges,” said FIA WEC CEO Gerard Neveu. “Audran has captured the moment perfectly with WEC competitors at Le Mans under the Dunlop Bridge, which is immediately recognisable the world over as being part of the world famous 24 hour race.  We now invite Audran to join us for a special weekend in Brazil where he and his guest will receive a special VIP weekend at the season finale of the FIA World Endurance Championship in Brazil.”

Two runners up were also chosen, with both photographers receiving VIP passes to their local race in 2015.

The first, entitled 'Moments In Time' was a very interesting multiple exposure image of the no51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 during the qualifying session for the 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas taken by Dan Pollock from Granite Shoals in Texas.  Dan will receive two VIP passes for the 2015 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas.

The second runner up is Louise Johnson with her atmospheric image of the Toyota TS040 on its way to victory at the 6 Hours of Silverstone in the rain, just ahead of the no20 Porsche.  Endurance racing is about rising to the challenge in all conditions and this is summed up in Louise’s image.  She will receive two VIP passes for the 2015 6 Hours of Silverstone in April.
