Swiss Bliss! Mutual respect between FIA WEC quick men!

Swiss Bliss! Mutual respect between FIA WEC quick men!

They have raced in many categories together and have both enjoyed successful, if slightly different careers, and they share the same nationality. However there is something else that Sebastien Buemi and Neel Jani have shared this season. Speed!

Their pace in the Toyota TS 040 Hybrid and the Porsche 919 Hybrid respectively has been majorly impressive all season long. Buemi was crowned 2014 FIA World Endurance Driver champion at Bahrain two weeks ago and acknowledges that Jani has been impressive this season and seems genuinely happy for the driver that he first raced with as a team mate in the A1 Grand Prix Switzerland squad back in 2006.

“I like Neel (Jani) and he is a good guy,” said Buemi. “He definitely deserved a chance in F1 and I think he was unlucky not to have got an opportunity. But he came back strongly with Rebellion Racing and showed his talent and he got the opportunity with Porsche and he has shown his good standard, so I am happy for him.”

Jani also has only positive words to say about his countryman and the mutual respect he has for the Toyota driver.

“I have known Sebastien a long time since he was very young and have always known he is very talented. I could see that back in 2006,” said Jani. “I congratulate him and Anthony (Davidson) of course on winning the championship, they did a great job. However, it makes me and the Porsche team want to beat them in 2015 for sure!”

Switzerland known for its efficiency has produced two of the best examples of quick and efficient drivers in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2014 and should be proud of their rapid racers.
