WEC teams arrive at Silverstone
10/04/2013

Excitement is building as preparations ramp up for the opening round of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Silverstone.

Pictured above are the AF Corse race transporters which made the long journey from Piacenza in Italy to Silverstone in Northamptonshire.  The 2012 LMGTE Championship-winning team will be operating two LMGTE Pro entries for Gianmaria Bruni and Giancarlo Fisichella (No.51) and WEC newcomer Kamui Kobayashi and Toni Vilander (No.71), one LMGTE Am entry and a fourth car on behalf of 8Star Motorsport.  The team also manages the LMP2 Pecom Racing entry.

Toyota Racing was looking in fine shape when this image was taken, with both TS030 Hybrid cars unloaded and the pit garage installation nearing completion.

Above, yesterday afternoon, are three of AF Corse's Ferrari 458 Italias, getting used to their British surroundings while the pit garage and pit lane installations go on around them.

Today, Thursday, the administrative duties start for the teams with scrutineering, signing on, briefings and a drivers' track walk taking place.
