WHAT THE DRIVERS SAY....

Some driver reactions after 240 minutes of racing.

Anthony Davidson - #8 Toyota Racing TS 040 Hybrid: "It was an action packed couple of stints for me. Sebastien put us in a good position from the start. I had a few interesting moments in traffic and then the full course yellows (flags) came out. The problem was that not everyone got on it when the green flags came and there were lots of people surprised I think. There were some close misses. The position for us though at this stage is very good.”

Neel Jani - #14 Porsche 919 Hybrid: "We were running ok but generally struggling for grip in sector three. The track and air temperature is quite low today so that doesn’t help too much. I think third is the best we can hope for at this stage but of course we fight, fight, fight to the end.”

Matt Howson - #47 KCMG Oreca-Nissan: “My first stint went well and I managed to close the gap to (Julien) Canel. But then in the second stint I got a lot more tyre degradation. Then we lost some time under the yellow flag caution period but I’m not sure how. Also, there were a lot of close calls when we went green and not everyone realised.

“I think that the incident between Alexander (Imperatori) and the GT Porsche (Proton competition) was just one of those things. Alexander was forced to go for the inside as he was carrying a lot of speed and the Porsche was forced in to being in the middle of the road. It cost us for sure but these things happen sometimes.

Mathias Beche - #12 Rebellion R-One-Toyota: “Everything was working well and then we had a problem. I lost the TC (traction control) and then the power cut. Luckily I got back to the pits but we have lost a lot of laps.”
