10,000 fans enjoy special ambience at Prologue

By midday more than 10,000 fans had flocked to the final day of the 2015 Prologue test for the 2015 WEC today.

Warm and sunny conditions made it an ideal day for the fans to get acquainted with the new breed of WEC machinery. A carnival atmosphere kicked in to life at lunchtime with an open pit lane walkabout and autograph opportunities taking place. It was all set to the backdrop of an electric set from ‘The Avener’ - recently announced official ‘Music Ambassador’ of the WEC.

The fans got posters and hero cards signed throughout the lunch break before heading back out to see the action for the final session this afternoon.

We spoke to a few of those soaking up the atmosphere at Circuit Paul Ricard today:

Marie-Ann Bossis from Toulon:  “We have looked forward to this for many weeks. We love the cars from the TV and now we see them here, fantastic. My son Anthony loves Mark Webber and the Porsche. Now at Le Mans we are not sure to wear white, red or black this year! The three colours will be fantastic.”

David Fernandez from Aubagne:  “For our family it is a big pleasure to be at the track today. The news cars look very spectacular. To see these cars from technological laboratories is really amazing. We like the Toyota because we know that ORECA the local company works with them. My favourite driver is Wurz because he is funny and fast too. But my brother Michel, he is a big Buemi fanatic and will be first in the line for autograph I think this afternoon.”
