A fantastic day awaits at Spa-Francorchamps
04/05/2013

Good morning from a very sunny and beautiful Spa-Francorchamps circuit, the venue for today’s second round of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship, the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. The forecast remains good for the whole day and the FIA WEC and all its competitors look forward to welcoming you to Spa!

At 09:00H this morning there will be a short warm up session for the 35 cars on the grid for today’s race, including the No.28 Gulf Racing Middle East Lola–Nissan which was not able to qualify yesterday due to a battery problem.  Taking their practice times into consideration, the Stewards of the meeting have authorised them to take the start from the back of the grid.

Before that, the many thousands of fans and spectators who have pre-bought tickets for the event will be able to enjoy a pit walk from 10:45 to 12:15, and an autograph session in the pit lane between 11:15 and 11:45 during which time they will be able to get close to their heroes!  The FAN zone will also be in full swing, with entertainments for all the family.

This morning’s track action will include two races from the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Benelux (the starts being at 09:40 and 12:30) – before the main event this afternoon.

The WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will start at 14:30 and can be viewed via the FIA WEC website or on many TV stations globally, full details of which can be found here.
