The Jérôme Policand-led squad was unquestionably the biggest improver in the 18-strong field in 2025, vaulting from 16th and 18th in the standings 12 months earlier up to third and ninth, with the #78 claiming a brace of pole positions and the #87 triumphing in both Brazil and Bahrain.

The team is aiming to build upon that breakthrough display over the course of the forthcoming campaign at the international pinnacle of the long-distance discipline, when its pair of RC Fs will be distinguishable by a refreshed visual identity reflective of performance and precision, combining the unmistakeable Lexus DNA with Akkodis’ determination to fight at the front.

The #78 car will be piloted by Esteban Masson, FIA WEC newcomer Hadrien David and Tom van Rompuy, while the race-winning #87 crew of José María López, Clemens Schmid and Petru Umbrărescu remains unchanged.

“This is more than just a new design – it’s a symbol of our journey,” mused Austrian ace Schmid. “Last season, we fought hard to earn P3 overall, but our goal is clear – P1. Every lap, every sacrifice, every late night led us here. In 2026, we’re coming back stronger. This is our moment.”

The quest for honours will begin once again with a ten-hour curtain-raising contest in Qatar on 28 March, followed by races at Imola, Spa-Francorchamps, Le Mans, Interlagos, COTA and Fuji prior to concluding with the traditional eight-hour season finale in Bahrain.
