2012 World Champion, André Lotterer, treated himself to a non-Audi Sport race in his Belgium homeland between the two FIA WEC events at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps.

He contested the Belgian Youngtimer Cup at Zolder, a race open to all touring and GT cars up to the 1990s, and was racing a 1981 Audi Coupé.  Lotterer finished second.  The Youngtimer Cup is run by the Belgian Racing Automobile Vintage Organisation which holds as central to its racing "Sportsmanship in the 3 Cs: No Crashing – No Cheating – No Complaining"!

André Lotterer was born in Duisburg in Germany, a son of a Peruvian father and German mother, and grew up close to Nivelles after his family moved to Belgium when he was two years of age.

He remains in Belgium this week for the WEC 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps and will be racing the No.2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro with Marcel Fässler and Benoît Tréluyer.
