Audi, ORECA, Aston Martin and Ferrari claim poles at COTA

The combined average lap times of Loic Duval and Allan McNish in the No.2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro rewarded the German marque with their fourth consecutive pole position, and a front row spot for tomorrow's 6 Hours of The Circuit of The Americas.  They will be alongside their team mates in the No.1 Audi on the front row.  

Behind them on the second row of the grid will be the Toyota TS030 Hybrid of Davidson-Buemi-Sarrazin, and the LMP1 Privateer entry, the No.12 Rebellion Racing Lola Coupe Toyota.

In LMP2 the No.26 G-Drive Racing ORECA Nissan headed the two OAK Racing Morgan Nissans.  The Russian-backed G-Drive car's average lap time of 1:54.951 was set by Conway and Martin, watched by their team mate Roman Rusinov.

Aston Martin Racing continued in the way in which it has started this weekend, at the head of the LMGTE Pro category. Bruno Senna and Fred Makowiecki's combined average lap times of 2:04.628 being two tenths of a second ahead of the No.91 Porsche AG Team Manthey 911 RSR of Bergmeister and Pilet.

Offering up a fourth different manufactuer in the four classes, it was Ferrari who claimed the LMGTE Am class pole with the No.81 8Star Motorsports 458 Italia. Malucelli and Aguas headed the No.95 Aston Martin Vantage of Thiim-Nygaard-Poulsen and the No.61 AF Corse Ferrari.
