Audi take charge after 2 Hours at COTA

·         At 1/3rd race distance after two hours the Six Hours of COTA leaders were:

o   LM P1: Lucas di Grassi, No.8, Audi Sport Team Joest

o   LM P1 Privateer: Alexandre Imperatori, No.13 Rebellion Racing

o   LM P2: Stephane Richelmi, No.36 Signatech Alpine

o   LM GTE Pro: Nicki Thiim, No.95 Aston Martin Racing

o   LM GTE Am: Paul Dalla Lana, No.98 Aston Martin Racing

·         Alex Brundle passed an amazing 18 cars in his first 45 stint after starting from the back of the grid for G-Drive Racing

·         The No.66 Ford GT spent 26 minutes in the pits fixing an air conditioning issue. Was back on track with five hours, 13 min to go.

·         Audi dominated the first hour but the Toyota of Anthony Davidson jumped the Brendon Hartley Porsche in the pit stops to grab third briefly

·         The prototype teams all single stinted their drivers in the opening run to save them from the heat. The drivers faced temperatures of 35 degrees (c) ambient and 43 degrees track temp.

·         After 90 minutes the two Audis had built a lead of more than 45 seconds.

·         After all six LM P1 had pitted twice after 110 minutes. The No.8 Audi of Lucas di Grassi held the lead over No.7 teammate Benoit Treluyer. The gap back to the No.1 Porsche remained at 45 minutes.

·         At the two-hour mark, the G-Drive Racing Oreca-Nissan had climbed to an amazing second place in the LM P2 class despite starting at the rear of the grid.

·         Right at the two-hour mark the No.7 Audi ran wide at turn 12. Lucas di Grassi held a lead of 5.573 seconds over teammate Benoit Treluyer.

·         At two hours the No.83 AF Corse LM GTE Am Ferrari was in the garage with mechanics looking at the rear fo the car.

·         A pit-stop right at two hours also turned disastrous for the No.88 LM GTE Am Porsche which suffered a fire as just David Heinemeier Hansson was getting in the car.
