Davidson and Coigny ruled out of Silverstone

The FIA WEC 4 Hours of Silverstone will sadly no longer see the participation of JOTA’s Anthony Davidson and Cool Racing’s Alexandre Coigny.

Davidson has been forced to withdraw from the opening race of Season 8 due to a rib injury sustained before he arrived at Silverstone last week.

The 2014 WEC champion took part in the free practice sessions but due to excessive pain and discomfort decided to withdraw.

Coigny, who was part of the new to WEC Cool Racing squad, had an incident in yesterday’s European Le Mans Series race at the Brooklands turn and suffered an injury which required treatment.

Therefore both the No.38 JOTA and the No.42 Cool Racing crews will run with two drivers each. JOTA will complete the race with Antonio Felix da Costa and Roberto Gonzalez, while Nicolas Lapierre and Antonin Borga will race the Cool Racing ORECA-Gibson.

The WEC would like to wish both Anthony and Alexandre a quick and complete recovery from their injuries.
