While many of the FIA WEC’s drivers are taking the opportunity between the end of 2014 and the start of another exciting new season of sports car racing to spend precious time with their families and friends, some will be competing in a variety of different disciplines.
Porsche factory driver Romain Dumas has just started his first Dakar Rally, and will be driving with the Ecurie du Cœur (Team with Heart) in an MD Rallye Sport Buggy. He will be flying the colours of the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque Association which benefits children with heart problems, and left Buenos Aires in Argentina yesterday ready to take on the most punishing of all-terrain events which covers 9000 kilometres of South America.
The Frenchman will also be taking part in the Rallye Automobile Monte-Carlotowards the end of January.
Good luck Romain!
