FIA WEC welcomes back limited number of fans for Monza
The first event open to the public at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza will be the 6 Hours of Monza, round three of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship. The Italian round of the FIA WEC will be held at Monza, Italy, next month (16 – 18 July).
Built in 1922, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza is the true temple of speed - unmatched around the globe for its history and passion, as well as the legendary Tifosi. The championship staged the WEC Prologue at Monza back in April 2017 but Season 9 will mark the first time that a full WEC race has been held at this truly spectacular racetrack.
A total of 38 cars will battle it out in their respective classes that this year features all all-new category: Hypercars. A six-hour race in the Italian summer sunshine will provide a fascinating insight into the new-for-2021 Hypercars, as negotiating the slower GT traffic on the narrow stretches of road will be a real challenge for the drivers. Twelve LMP2, four LMGTE Pro and 17 LMGTE Am will also be on track, with 11 Ferraris in the latter two categories.
Next month’s 6 Hours of Monza will be the first race this year where Autodromo Nazionale Monza will host a limited number of fans – all in accordance with COVID-19 regulations.
The circuit will welcome spectators on Sunday 18 July, appropriately spaced and on the right grandstand of the starting straight. The seats will be assigned at the time of ticket purchase, which must be done only through authorised online retailers. Together with the ticket, a parking space inside the circuit will also be guaranteed.
Until Wednesday 30 June, tickets will be on sale at a discounted price via www.monzanet.it and www.ticketone.it. Entry costs 60 euros, while it will be free for children up to six-years-old and will cost 1 euro for those between seven and 11. Those aged between 12 and 17 plus the over 75s will be charged 30 euros. From Thursday 1 July, the prices will increase.
Fans can book their seats online ahead of the event but will not be permitted to purchase in person at the doors. It will be necessary to complete a check-in procedure which will allow tracking of spectators for the protection of their health.
If regulations change, tickets already booked will be refunded for the full face value of the price. Any updates will be promptly communicated on the website www.monzanet.it.
