Ford Chip Ganassi Racing today announced its driver pairings for the WEC, and the two additional drivers who will be joining the team for the Le Mans 24 Hours in June, round three of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
The No.66 Ford GT will be raced by the very experienced pairing of Stefan Mücke of Germany and Frenchman Olivier Pla – both of them multiple class winners in the WEC in the LMGTE Pro and LMP2 class respectively. For Le Mans they will be joined by American Billy Johnson, a long-time Ford driver who has become one of the most successful drivers in the IMSA Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge. He will be making his debut at La Sarthe.
Scot Marino Franchitti pairs with Guernseyman Andy Priaulx in the No.67 LMGTE Pro entry, and they will be joined by Englishman Harry Tincknell for the twice-round-the-clock French classic. Tincknell is already a Le Mans winner as he took the LMP2 victory in 2014 in what was his fourth ever sports car race. He will join the team for the first two WEC races at Silverstone and Spa before going to Le Mans.
