  • Setting the fastest lap of the second free practice session for the 2025 Lone Star Le Mans weekend was the No.20 BMW driven by Sheldon van Der Linde
  • The South African ace peaked with a lap of 1m51.946, a time that was 0.4s quicker than his nearest pursuer, Antonio Giovinazzi in the #51 Ferrari AF Corse 499P Hypercar
  • Last year’s pole sitter and early race leader Giovinazzi is aiming to avenge the mistake that cost the #51 crew a potential win 12 months ago
  • Continuing the hugely promising pace of FP1 is the Aston Martin The Heart of Racing Team as the #009 car of Marco Sorensen, Alex Riberas and Roman de Angelis places third on a time of 1m52.457s, a time that is just 0.050s off the #51 Ferrari
  • Porsche Penske Motorsport achieve much improved pace in FP2 as the #6 963 Hypercar takes fifth place with Matt Campbell re-joining Kevin Estre and Laurens Vanthoor this weekend

  • Sean Geleal laps in 2m06.545s to lead the #85 Iron Dames Porsche with Rahel Frey setting a time just 0.090s off Gelael’s best in car she shares with Michelle Gatting and Célia Martin
  • Much promise comes from the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang squad as Dennis Olsen laps in 2m06.853s in car he shares with Stefano Gattuso and Giammarco Levorato
  • The second of the United Autosport McLarens driven by James Cottingham, Sebastien Baud and Gregoire Saucy is fourth a mere 0.002s off the Ford Mustang in fourth place

The third and final Free Practice session is scheduled to begin at 11:00 local time on Saturday morning
