How to watch the 6 Hours of Nurburgring on TV

The scene is set for another incredible battle of skill, passion and strategy to take place on track between the 33 competitors in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and not a moment of the action should be missed.

The fourth round of the WEC, the 6 Hours of Nürburgring, takes place on Sunday 24 July on the Grand Prix layout of the legendary German circuit in the Eifel Mountains, and the weather forecast looks extremely favourable for race day.

If you are unable to attend in person – missing out on what is likely to be an incredible spectacle as the world’s most sophisticated and high-performing sports prototypes and GT cars start their last race in Europe for the 2016 season – don’t worry!  The WEC has put together a comprehensive list of live television coverage to be shown via major broadcasters around the world, ensuring that you don’t miss any of the WEC action.

EUROPE

For the first time, the full race is being shown LIVE AND DIRECT in the UK on BT Sport, as well as on ORF in Austria and L’Equipe 21 in France, reflecting the ever-increasing interest in the WEC and endurance racing.

Europe-wide the race will be shown live on Eurosport 2 from 18h00 to 19h15 CET, capturing the excitement and drama of the denouement throughout Europeand specifically in Germany.

AUSTRIA

ORFwill show the full race LIVE and direct, free to air on ORF Sport Plus, from 12h50 to 19h20, capturing the drama of the local race which features three Austrian drivers in three different classes.

FRANCE

Following in the footsteps of a dramatic Le Mans 24 Hours, L’Equipe 21 will show continue its free-to-air coverage of the WEC, LIVE from start to finish, from 12h30 – 19h20.  Motors TV is also expected to show the race live across Europe, including of course in France.

GERMANY

What is sure to be a thrilling end to the 6-hour race at Germany’s legendary Nürburgring circuit will be broadcast on DMAX, the channel showing the final hour free-to-air to the 27 million plus homes across the German/Austrian/Swiss territories (17h45 – 19h09 CET).  Eurosport 2’s coverage of the race, featuring the seven major manufacturers involved in the WEC, will be shown from 18h00 to 19h15 CET.

UK

Britain’s huge endurance racing fan base, as well as those new to the discipline, can now watch LIVE action on BT Sport 2, including all the build-up from 11h30 through to the chequered flag and podium presentations at 18h30 (BST).

THE AMERICAS

With the 6 Hours of Mexico in Latin America and the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas in the USA this year, the WEC coverage will be handled by the FOX network who have increased their commitment to the WEC with a dedicated team including veteran broadcasters Bob Varsha and Calvin Fish for the English-speaking coverage.  The whole race will be shown live on FOX Sports.

UNITED STATES, CANADA, CARIBBEAN

FOX Sports 1 will broadcast LIVE the entire race from start to finish, with raised interest levels across the continent following Ford’s successful return to the top step of the GTE Pro podium at Le Mans.

CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA

The full race will be shown live between 08h00 and 14h30 ART on FOX Sports 3 in Latin America, and on Fox Sports 2 in Brazil. 

ASIA

With Toyota Gazoo Racing looking to exact revenge on its competitors after Le Mans, Eurosport will broadcast the race LIVE across the Pan-Asian region between 18h00-19h15 CET.  Fox Sports Pan Asia is also expected to cover the 6 Hours of Nürburgring, with timings to be confirmed.   

JAPAN

J-Sports continues to follow the WEC carefully, and will show the full race live on J Sports 2 at 19h30 CET.   

OTHER BROADCASTS

In addition to a number of different news access options across the UK and Europe, including the WEC’s digital media partner Motorsport.com, fans worldwide can follow the race LIVE on HD with commentary led by John Hindhaugh and Graham Goodwin, on the FIA WEC APP, plus full time keeping live. 

Additionally Eurosport Player will show the full race live, as will LeTV in China, while on Fox Sports Go in North America, Canada and the Caribbean there will be full race coverage live.

As ever Radio Le Mans will have full radio coverage live on their digital platform.
