
FIA World Endurance Championship rookie Eduardo Barrichello thrilled the home crowds at Interlagos today (12 July) by qualifying on pole position for the first time in Racing Spirit of Léman’s Aston Martin Vantage LMGT3.
The Brazilian narrowly fended off a dual Lexus challenge from Akkodis ASP Team duo Clemens Schmid and Finn Gehrsitz, with the former falling just 0.024 seconds shy of snatching the top spot ahead of Sunday’s 6 Hours of São Paulo.
Teenage sensation Lin Hodenius impressed by putting Iron Lynx’s #61 Mercedes fourth on the grid, while the #91 Manthey 1st Phorm Porsche and #21 VISTA AF Corse Ferrari – the top two in the standings heading into tomorrow’s race, round five of the 2025 FIA WEC campaign – both failed to make the Hyperpole cut and will start down in 13th and 15th positions respectively.
