ToyotaToyota tops Last Practice Session Ahead of Qualifying
The no8 Toyota TS040 set the quickest time of the weekend so far to claim the top spot ahead of this afternoon’s qualifying for the 6 Hours of Fuji. The time was 0.8 seconds quicker than the best time set on Friday. The two Porsches 919 hybrids were second and third fastest ahead of the second Toyota and ahead of the two Audi R18 etron quattros.
The LMP1-L battle was once again between the two Rebellions, with the no13 R-One finishing ahead, but both cars suffered problems during the session and spent some time in the garage. The Lotus CLM-AER also was reported to be dropping fluids during the session and finished the final Free Practice in 14th overall.
The no26 G-Drive Racing Ligier was once again ahead of the LMP2 pack, with the no27 SMP Racing and no47 KCMG Orecas close behind on the final timing sheets.
The qualifying session for the 6 Hours of Fuji will start at 13:20 for LMGTE competitors, followed at 13:55 by the 25-minute session for the LMP cars.
