"Although my first win in GTE Pro at Spa was really special, the magic moment of the year was my race start stint in Austin, Texas.
"In the formation lap I was surprised by an issue which forced me to race without traction control – a big surprise to have moments before the race start from pole-position.
"However, it turned out to be an amazing experience: challenging and fun to handle the car and learning and improving myself corner after corner without compromising our race pace. I had beautiful clean battles with other GTE Pro cars in that stint, including a double overtaking move which really moved my emotions inside the race car. To me it became a personal highlight of my season!"
“The highlight of my year is always that first shot of the year… The travelling shot…
“Being driven round the race track at Paul Ricard is thrill enough at any time, but tied into the back of a car going 100kph, with a few million pounds worth of cars chasing you round, at my control, is a real buzz! Knowing I’m the only one who can get the shot, the pressure to nail that shot only adds to the excitement.
"After getting a few ‘keepers’, it’s time to get creative for that last lap, and see if you can get a winning shot at 1/15th or slower while hanging on as the car hits the corners...a bit of tilt and some shiny weather can really help!
“When you see that shot used in every motorsport magazine and website around the world you know it was worth the bruises!
“Bring on 2016 and see you all at Paul Ricard!”
