My Sebring...Jorg Bergmeister

Ahead of the WEC’s visit to Sebring Raceway in two weeks, we asked a number of drivers in our paddock about what it takes to get a good lap at Sebring, and what’s so special about the track. Next up, Jörg Bergmeister!

Jörg Bergmeister, No. 56 Team Project 1 (GTE Am)

“Obviously a car that runs the bumps really well is the most important thing!  I’m really looking forward to running the RSR out there.  We’re going to have a test day before the race so that’s key to getting a good set up. You have to set your marks, ride the bumps at the right angles and you should have a good lap!

“The bumps are part of what makes it special, plus the fans and atmosphere there. It’s crazy and amazing, especially when the night comes and the barbecues are on.  Sometimes you can’t see the track because of all the smoke! Definitely a cool event, and I think everyone from the WEC will enjoy it.”

WEC practice begins on Wednesday March 13, including a night practice, with qualifying taking place on Thursday March 14 from 9:30 pm and the green flag dropping for the 1000 Miles of Sebring at 4:00 pm on Friday March 15.
