New BRDC Trophy to be awarded for the 6 Hrs Silverstone

The owner of the Silverstone Circuit, the British Racing Drivers Club, (BRDC) has had, and continues to have, amongst its membership a great many legendary names from the world of sports car racing including the late Richard Lloyd.

A driver of some note, and a successful team owner in the 1980s, Lloyd’s name was synonymous with famous Canon Porsche 962 which ran in the World Sportcar Championship.  Lloyd tragically lost his life in an aviation accident in 2008.

Now, his family has joined with the BRDC to award a trophy to the highest placed BRDC Member in the 6 Hours of Silverstone.  If more than one member of the BRDC is in the highest placed car, the trophy will be shared.

The eligible members are:  Tom Kristensen, Anthony Davidson, Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley, Darren Turner, Alex MacDowall, Johnny Mowlem and Ben Collins.
