Signatech Nissan

China, and the Shanghai International Season, saw the SIGNATECH-NISSAN team in action this weekend, for the season finale of the FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP. Despite some fine performances, the nr 23 ORECA 03 – NISSAN entered by the Bourges-based team, although regularly at the forefront, has only been able to claim a single podium this season, at Bahrain last month, mainly due to a run of bad luck. Franck Mailleux, Jordan Tresson and Olivier Lombard, who had placed great hopes on this final race, finished the Six Hours of Shanghai in fifth position, just off the podium.

It was at the International Shanghai Circuit, in China, that G-Drive Racing by SIGNATECH-NISSAN finished the inaugural season of the FIA WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP. With some fine performances this yea r- 4th LMP2 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (9th overall) , a podium in Silverstone and LMP2 lap record in Fuji, Nelson Panciatici, Pierre Ragues and Roman Rusinov, who lost out on a win in Bahrain (penalty due to a problem with the lighting on the race number), saw once again their hopes of victory go up in smoke further to a broken brake disque, just when they had moved up into second place in the LMP2 classification.

Lotus

After being on Pole Position, James Rossiter in car #32 had a moderate start and did not push too much. The Briton did not use his tyres too hard as otherwise he would have had problems at the end of his first stint. It was a wise decision as the cars in front of him struggled with the tyres and so, Rossiter could catch up with the class leader. Unfortunately, car #32 had to retire because of some brake problems.

Thomas Holzer and Mirco Schultis in car #31 finished the race on sixth position in LMP2 class. Both German drivers had a strong race pace and could manage the tyre degradation well.
