Off-roading prototype stars!

Two of the FIA WEC’s leading LMP1 drivers – Porsche Team’s Romain Dumas and Stéphane Sarrazin of Toyota Racing – are showing their adaptability and multi-discipline expertise by leaving behind their prototypes and going off road.  But don’t worry, it’s only a temporary departure for the Frenchmen from international sports car racing and they will be back in the WEC very soon!

Dumas, from Alès, will be taking part in this weekend’s Rallye des Cévennes at the wheel of a Group 4 Porsche 911 SC3 as a warm up to next month’s Tour de Corse which he will contest in his 4-litre Porsche 911 GT3 RS.   Both vehicles will be prepared, developed and entered by his own Romain Dumas Rallye Team.

Also competing in both the Cevennes rally and the final round of the European Rally Championship in Corsica (6-8 November) is Stéphane Sarrazin who was a factory Subaru World Rally Championship driver from 2004-06. The Frenchman has continued to do the occasional rally alongside his sportscar career in recent years, but his entry to the Tour de Corse in a First Motorsport-run Ford Fiesta Regional Rally Car will be his first top-level international rally this year.

Good luck to them both!
