Markus Palttala has today been confirmed as a replacement for Prospeed Competition’s Matthieu Vaxiviere in the No.75 Porsche 997 GT3 RSR in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The 36-year-old Finn, who is Silver-rated, will bolster the regular duo of Emmanuel Collard and François Perrodo in the Belgian team’s LMGTE AM entry following the unfortunate back injury sustained by Vaxiviere in the World Series by Renault race at Monaco.
Palttala drove in the final three rounds of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship for IMSA Performance Matmut, and this will be his third 24 Hours of Le Mans. He won’t, however, be present for Prospeed at the official Test Day as he has a commitment to race in the Detroit round of the United Sportcar Championship in the USA.
