G-Drive Racing’s Roman Rusinov is hunting a third race victory of 2014 as he prepares for tomorrows 6 Hours of Fuji.
The Russian, who along with team mates Olivier Pla and Julien Canal is hunting down Sergey Zlobin at the top of the FIA Endurance Trophy for LMP Drivers points table, will start the race tomorrow from a well-earned pole.
“We are all working together and the team is doing a great job. The Ligier-Nissan was performing well and another pole is very satisfying,” said Rusinov after qualifying. “Tomorrow we just need to stay out of trouble and I am sure we will be in a good position. The Ligier chassis, the Nissan engine and the Dunlop tyres is an excellent package and I believe that on pace we are number one. But as we know in the race anything can happen”
Rusinov, representing his home nation of Russian, this is a big weekend as he strives for a third win of the season and also watches proudly as his home nation hosts its first F1 race in Sochi.
“For sure it is good for Russian motorsport and I am glad to be able to race and win in the FIA World Endurance Championship. We have a lot of races coming up in the next two months so we are hugely focused on getting as many points as possible to go toward our aim of fighting for the titles.”
