The waiting is over: the 6 Hours of Silverstone is almost here!
14/04/2013

The waiting is over and the start of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship is here!  The 6 Hours of Silverstone will take place at the Northamptonshire track today, beginning at 12 noon.  By the time the chequered flag falls at 6pm we will know who has set out on the path towards Championship honours at the end of the season.

The LMP1 factory hybrid entries and Privateer teams, LMP2, LMGTE Pro and Am entries which make up the grid are guaranteed to put on a fantastic show of racing for spectators and fans alike.

The skies have cleared after yesterday’s deluge of rain and the breeze is due to keep the rain away for the remainder of the day.  The sunshine is peeking out from behind the clouds already and will make a firm appearance to welcome everyone to this superb festival of racing.

Tickets are still available at the bargain price of £35 per person, with free tickets for those under 15.  Parking and grandstands are free.  Aside from the track entertainment, there is a range of amusements available for every age just outside the main FIA WEC paddock.

Before the track action starts, there is an opportunity to see both cars and drivers up close and personal with a pit walk which will start at 10:00 am and a 30-minute autograph session which begins at 10:05 am.  Pits open at 10:55 am and the cars will make their way to the pits to form the grid for the 6 Hours of Silverstone.
