WEC drivers try their skills at Arabic calligraphy!

Several FIA WEC drivers got into the Middle Eastern spirit this afternoon by attempting to write Bapco 8 Hours of Bahrain in Arabic ahead of the event’s official track walk.

Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Kazuki Nakajima, Porsche GT Team’s Kevin Estre and Gimmi Bruni, Dempsey-Proton Racing’s Thomas Preining and Matt Campbell, Aston Martin Racing’s Darren Turner and Maxime Martin were first up and it was Nakajima who scored top marks with his incredible calligraphy skills which saw him score a maximum 10 points.  As a result, Nakajima won a special medal gifted to him from the Bahrain International Circuit.

Next in line was Gulf Racing’s Andrew Watson and Benjamin Barker who were joined by TF Sport’s Charlie Eastwood and Jonny Adam – the latter duo proved joint leaders in the second group with 9 points apiece.

Tonight the BIC will host a welcome barbeque for the entire WEC paddock before the on-track action gets underway tomorrow with the first free practice session at 14h00 local time.
