The 2016 FIA World Endurance Champions were honoured in style on Friday evening at the official FIA Prize-Giving ceremony at the Imperial Hofburg Palace in Vienna.

Porsche’s Fritz Enzinger and drivers Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb collected their trophies alongside winners from Formula One and other FIA world championships from around the globe.

The French-Swiss-German trio were crowned as World Endurance Drivers' Champions after taking maximum points at Silverstone and, crucially, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.  The No.2 Porsche 919 Hybrid headed Audi’s Loïc Duval, Lucas di Grassi and Oliver Jarvis by 12.5 points and Toyota’s Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Stéphane Sarrazin by 15.

Porsche claimed the FIA World Endurance Manufacturers' Championship for the second time in two years, joining Audi (2012, 2013) and Toyota (2014) in holding this illustrious title.  The German manufacturer won six of the nine rounds in 2016 including an 18th victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

Ferrari was victorious in the FIA World Endurance Cup for GT Manufacturers, regaining the trophy it has now won four times in the last five years thanks to strong performances by its teams in both the LMGTE Pro and Am categories.  Danes Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen lifted the FIA World Endurance Cup for GT Drivers, taking two wins and four further podium finishes in 2016 to finish ahead of Ferrari’s Davide Rigon and Sam Bird by 22 points.
