6 Hrs of Silverstone: LMGTE report after 270 minutes
20/04/2014

The key players in the LMGTE Pro and Am categories have remained much the same in the last 90 minutes of racing at the 6 Hours of Silverstone as they were at the half way point, with a slight change of order among the one-year-old Am cars.

With the rain continuing to hold off, thanks to a strong wind over the Silverstone Circuit, Porsche is still holding the upper hand in the LMGTE Pro class and the positions of the top three have not changed.  The No.91 of Pilet-Bergmeister-Tandy is now 13 seconds ahead of the No.92 Porsche 911 RSR of Porsche Team Manthey, while third in class is the No.51 AF Corse Ferrari 458 of Bruni-Vilander.  The top five GTE Pro cars are all on the same lap and victory in the category remains open depending on the weather conditions in the last quarter of the race.

In LMGTE Am it is the No.98 Aston Martin Vantage at the head of the class, Christoffer Nygaard now at the wheel of the V8-powered British car.  The Dane is just 6 seconds ahead of its team mate in the Aston Martin Racing stable, the No.95, and well over a minute ahead of the No.81 AF Corse of Wyatt-Rugolo-Bird.

With more rain forecast in the next 30 minutes, the order at the finish is still unpredictable.
