Corvette heads into its home event on the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship calendar at Texas’ Circuit of The Americas this weekend (4-6 September) in an enviable position in the LMGT3 class title battle, and bidding to maintain its palpable momentum with a third win in a row.
After the #33 TF Sport Z06 GT3.R fought through from 17th on the grid to claim victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans back in June, the sister #34 Racing Team Turkey by TF entry then replicated that result four weeks later at Interlagos to send the Anglo/American alliance into the annual summer break on a high – and at the summit of the championship standings.
To add to the team’s confidence, the current-iteration Corvette is already a winner at COTA, having triumphed at the track in the GT World Challenge America in both 2024 and 2025. Indeed, three generations of the all-American sportscar have prevailed there.
“We’re all very excited for Sunday’s race, especially with it being our home round of the FIA WEC season,” commented Corvette Racing Programme Manager, Andrea Hidalgo. “It’s a big deal for us, everyone at TF Sport and the fans who will be watching, and obviously we couldn’t ask for better momentum coming into the event.
“Everything is clicking together nicely – the performance of the drivers, the engineering preparation and strategy as well as the execution and set-up by the crew.
“This event will be a challenge, as it always is. The competition will be tough but so will the extreme heat both on and off the track. The way the team is able to manage that through the car, the tyre degradation and themselves will go a long way toward finding success – and more points.”
The #33 crew of Jonny Edgar, Nicky Catsburg and Texas’ own Ben Keating arrive in Austin occupying the top three spots in the Drivers’ classification in the fiercely-disputed, production-based category. The trio struggled for pace in the wet at COTA last year – with Englishman Edgar musing that ‘a lot went wrong’ and it was ‘one of those days’ – but Keating is hopeful of better fortunes 12 months on.
“It will be tough because we’re still carrying some success ballast and it’s such a long lap,” contemplated the car’s ‘Bronze’ driver, who hails from just outside of Houston and missed the opening two rounds of the 2026 FIA WEC campaign as he recovered from an elbow injury, prior to making a triumphant return at Le Mans.
“Having said all that, I’ve been very successful at COTA through the years. I think I won the first four races I did there, including a 24-hour race overall. As I have my name on the side of the car from my Keating Chevrolet dealership, it would be great to win in Texas or be on the podium.”
Stablemates Charlie Eastwood, Salih Yoluç and Peter Dempsey’s São Paulo success elevated the #34 line-up to fourth in the LMGT3 Teams’ table – with only the sister car having scored more points over the most recent three rounds. Notably, the last time Yoluç contested the six-hour Lone Star Le Mans race – alongside Eastwood at TF Sport in 2020 – the pair prevailed.
“We’re coming off the back of finally breaking through with the win in Brazil,” enthused Northern Irishman, Eastwood. “The team effort was amazing, and both Peter and Salih drove really well to put us in a position where I just needed to bring it home. Now, we’re hoping to continue that at COTA, which is a completely different track but one I really enjoy.
“It’s the home race for Corvette, so we want to give it all we can to make it two in a row. There’s a lot of good momentum within TF Sport at the moment, and I’m really looking forward to this weekend to see if we can keep it up.”
