Dempsey Proton Racing Penalised

The Dempsey Proton Racing team has been penalised following the 6 Hours of Fuji last month (Stewards’ Decisions No.13 and 14 from 6 Hours of Shanghai) after it was adjudged that it breached several articles of the International Sporting Code.

Investigations made since the Japanese round have concluded that the teams’ data loggers were transferring false information, and the team was subsequently found to have been implicated in a fraudulent process and failed to cooperate in an investigation.

As a result of breaching articles 12.1.1.c, 12.1.1 g of the ISC and Annexe B – Loyalty and cooperation obligation, both the No.77 and No.88 entries have been given the following penalties:

1.    Disqualification from the 6 Hours of Fuji competition
2.    Withdrawal of all points scored since the beginning of the WEC Super Season 2018-19 up to an including the Fuji event
3.    The competitor will be referred to his licence-issuing ASN for any further sanction as they deem appropriate.

The Dempsey Proton Racing team has stated its intention to appeal the decision.
